Article 1
Purpose. This Decree stipulates the principles for imposing fines and taking other measures against violations of laws and regulations on the entry, exit, and management of foreigners in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, serving as a basis for law enforcement officers to correctly impose fines and other measures on violators, aiming to ensure that the entry, exit, and management of foreigners in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic comply with laws and regulations, safeguard social peace and order, and contribute to the defense and development of the country.
Article 2
Fines and Other Measures. Fines refer to economic measures imposed on those who violate the administrative regulations on entry, exit, and management of foreigners in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Other measures refer to additional measures beyond fines, such as educational reprimands, warnings, conducting preliminary inquiries and evidence collection, detention for twenty-four hours, seizure of documents, items, property, and vehicles related to the violation, cancellation of registration and temporary residence permits, suspension or revocation of business activities, or recommending that relevant authorities revoke enterprise registration certificates and business licenses. For foreigners and stateless persons, in addition to fines and other measures, they shall also be expelled from the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
