Summary

Article 1. Purpose
This Law stipulates the principles, regulations, and measures concerning the creation, management, use, and tracking inspection of archival documents, aiming to systematize, make efficient, unify, and modernize such work, with the purpose of protecting and preserving archival documents of historical and cultural value.

Article 2. Documents
Documents refer to information recorded on various carriers in multiple forms, such as text, images, and sound, reflecting an event or phenomenon, formed in the course of activities of the Party, the State, the Lao Front for National Construction, the Lao Veterans' Federation, mass organizations, social organizations, and other institutions.

Article 3. Interpretation of Terms
The terms used in this Law shall have the following meanings: 1. Original (first copy): refers to a document created for the first time through writing, printing, engraving or carving, drawing, photographing, and recording; 2. Authentic copy: refers to an original document that serves as a written or printed copy, with correct content and structure, and has been signed.
