Articles
Article 1
Purpose. This Law stipulates principles and regulations concerning the management, monitoring, and inspection of meteorological and hydrological station work, to ensure data collection serves the study, research, investigation, and prediction of climate, weather, and surface water and groundwater quantity and quality, making it effective and consistent with the fundamental principles of meteorological and hydrological work, aiming to achieve accurate, rapid, and timely monitoring, early warning, and information provision, reduce the impact of natural disasters, and participate in protecting the life, health, and property of the state, collectives, and citizens.
Article 2
Management of Meteorological and Hydrological Stations. Management of meteorological and hydrological stations refers to the management of the construction, use, and maintenance of meteorological and hydrological stations, including survey and registration, tracking and inspection of station operations, and collection and provision of meteorological and hydrological data, targeting legal persons or organizations that are station owners.
Article 3
Scope of Application. This Agreement applies to domestic and foreign legal entities or organizations that have established or are obligated to establish meteorological and hydrological stations within the territory of Laos.
