Pursuant to the Decree on the Organization and Activities of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, No. 230/Gov, dated July 24, 2017;
Pursuant to the Decree on the Management of Goods Prices and Service Fees, No. 474/Gov, dated November 18, 2010;
Pursuant to the Notification of the Prime Minister's Office, No. 1822/PMO.International Trade Department, dated October 31, 2018, on Submitting Certain Opinions for Consideration Regarding Setting the Retail Price of Tobacco at 4,000 Kip per Pack (Trial);
To reduce access to tobacco for youth and low-income individuals, aiming to protect health harmed by the use of tobacco products and exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke, the Minister of Industry and Commerce issues this Order:
Article 2
Tobacco products manufactured domestically and imported from abroad for sale within the Lao People's Democratic Republic shall have a minimum retail price of no less than four thousand (4,000) Kip per pack.
Article 3
The wholesale price of tobacco products, for producers, importers, and distributors of tobacco products, shall not be less than thirty thousand (30,000) Kip per carton.
