Article 1
Article 1 Purpose
This Law prescribes principles, regulations, and measures concerning the organization, activities, management, and inspection of the Lao Veterans Federation, to ensure the effective performance of its duties, rights, and obligations, aiming to make the Lao Veterans Federation politically steadfast, organizationally strong, with good operational conduct, capable of education, training, mobilization, and unity, solidarity, and cohesion, promoting revolutionary traditions, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members and the multi-ethnic people of Laos, and contributing to the defense and development of the nation.

Article 2: Lao Veterans Federation
The Lao Veterans Federation is a political-social mass organization under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, with the duty and task of uniting the broad ranks of veteran cadres, promoting patriotic traditions, and becoming a vital force in defending and building the nation.
The Lao Veterans Federation is abbreviated as: "Veterans Federation."
Article 3
Article 3 Interpretation of Terms
The terms used in this Law shall have the following meanings:
1. Political-social organizations refer to the Lao Front for National Construction, the Lao Veterans Federation, the Lao Women's Union, the Lao Federation of Trade Unions, and the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union;
2. Lao veterans refer to revolutionary fighters who served in the ranks of the Lao People's Armed Forces;
3. Special-grade disabled persons refer to those who have lost eighty-one to one hundred percent of their working capacity;
4. Social organizations refer to various associations, federations, clubs, societies, or commercial groups.
