Article 1

Purpose. This Instruction provides supplementary explanations on the content of certain sections and articles of the Decree on the Management and Protection of Religious Activities in the Lao People's Democratic Republic (No. 315/ລບ, dated August 16, 2016), in order to ensure correct, clear, and uniform understanding for implementation nationwide.

Article 2

Chapter I General Provisions, Article 3, Item 2. "Temple" refers to a place for conducting ceremonies, performing religious rites, and residing for monks, primarily including the residences of Bhikkhus, Samaneras, Upasaka (male lay devotees), and Upasika (female lay devotees); "Church" refers to a place for conducting Christian ceremonies; "Mosque" refers to a place for conducting Islamic ceremonies; "Spiritual Hall" refers to a place for conducting Bahá'í ceremonies.
