To reduce cumbersome procedures in the verification of accompanying documents for the export of finished wood products purchased at trade fairs, and to facilitate the export of finished wood products, the Minister of Industry and Commerce hereby issues the following guidance:
Finished wood products purchased at various trade fairs held within the territory of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and lawfully permitted to be organized, when exported abroad, must comply with the following conditions and procedures:
Article 2
Export Conditions for Finished Wood Products Purchased at Trade Fairs. Finished wood products purchased at trade fairs and intended for export abroad must meet the following conditions:
1. Finished wood products must have the correct style and specifications in accordance with the Agreement of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 1415/Industry and Trade.Handicraft Department (issued on August 28, 2008, concerning the style and specifications of wood products), as well as other relevant laws and regulations.
2. Wood products displayed at trade fairs must have a legal source of wood and have correctly fulfilled relevant obligations, and must obtain a written certificate from the responsible committee organizing the trade fair.
3. The value of finished wood products purchased at trade fairs and intended for export shall not exceed 160,000,000 Kip (one hundred sixty million Kip) per exporter (or per instance). If the finished wood products are in sets, and each set exceeds 160,000,000 Kip (one hundred sixty million Kip), then such export shall not exceed 1 set.
Article 3
Preparation of documents. For the export of finished wooden products purchased at trade fairs, the following documents must be attached:
1. The actual sales receipt for the transaction, i.e., the tax authority payment receipt in compliance with the laws and regulations of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
2. A certificate issued by the Commodity Trade Fair Committee to certify compliance with the conditions stipulated in Annex 1 of this guidance.
