Article 1

Article 1 Purpose
This Law stipulates principles, regulations, and measures concerning the management, monitoring, and inspection of biosafety work to ensure the safety of research, development, possession, transfer, and use of living modified organisms (whose genetic characteristics have been altered through the application of biotechnology) that may have adverse effects on the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity. Its purpose is to limit and reduce risks to the life and health of humans, animals, and plants, and to the environment, to align with regional and international standards, and to contribute to national socio-economic development.

Article 2

Article 2 – Biosafety
Biosafety refers to the assurance provided, based on the results of scientific analysis of biotechnology risks, in limiting and reducing the risks posed by living modified organisms (whose genetic characteristics have been altered) to the life and health of humans, animals, and plants, the environment, and economic and social development.
