Article 1. Purpose (Amended)
This Law prescribes principles, regulations, and measures regarding the management, monitoring, and inspection of food and the food business to ensure that food is of quality, efficient, safe, and nutritious, aiming to protect and promote consumer health, ensuring physical and mental well-being, strength, and longevity, and to participate in the protection and development of the nation.

Article 2. Food (Amended)
Food means any substance or material, whether in finished, semi-finished, or unprocessed form, such as fresh food or raw food, intended for human consumption, including beverages, other products, and any substance used in the production, preparation, processing, or treatment of food.
However, it does not include cosmetics, tobacco, or substances used as medicinal drugs.
