Article 1 (Amended) Purpose
This Law prescribes principles, regulations, and measures concerning the management, supervision, and inspection of irrigation work, aiming to ensure that such work is efficient and effective, that irrigation undertakings of all types and scales are correctly carried out in accordance with technical standards and modernization, to guarantee water supply to agricultural production areas, reduce losses caused by floods and droughts, and contribute to the national economy and society’s development in a green and sustainable direction.

Article 2 (Amended) Irrigation
Irrigation refers to the management of water resources for the purpose of supplying water to and draining water from agricultural production areas, consisting of headworks, water conveyance and drainage systems.
