Article 1
Article 1 (Amended). Purpose
This Law stipulates principles, rules, and measures concerning the management, protection, restoration, and monitoring of the environment, in order to reduce and control impacts and pollution that have occurred or may occur due to human activities or natural causes, aiming to ensure a balanced environment of good quality for society and nature, to make the utilization of natural resources efficient and effective, to improve the quality of life and health of humans, animals, and plants, to mitigate global warming, to be able to integrate with the region and internationally, and to contribute to the national socio-economic development in a green and sustainable direction.
Article 2
Article 2 (Amended). Environmental Protection
Environment refers to all things existing around humans, possessing physical and biological characteristics, tangible and intangible; those generated by human activities are called the social environment; those formed naturally are called the natural environment.
Environmental protection refers to the use of various methods and measures to prevent, conserve, and restore the environment, control pollution, reduce negative impacts on the environment, including the prevention and control of environmental emergencies and natural disasters, to make the environment green, clean, and beautiful, free from pollution, and not adversely affecting the life and health of humans, animals, and plants, as well as the balance of the ecosystem.
