Article 2 Management of the Import and Export of Foreign Currency Cash into and out of the Lao PDR
The management of the import and export of foreign currency cash into and out of the Lao PDR is the implementation of principles, regulations and measures regarding the movement of foreign currency cash from any country into the Lao PDR or from the Lao PDR to foreign countries.

Article 2 Scope of Application
This agreement applies to persons with or without domicile in the Lao PDR, the Foreign Exchange Management Department, and the regional branches of the Bank of the Lao PDR whose activities involve the import and export of foreign currency cash into and out of the Lao PDR.
This agreement does not apply to the import and export of foreign currency cash into and out of the Lao PDR by the Bank of the Lao PDR and commercial banks.

Article 4 Bringing Foreign Currency Cash into the Lao PDR
Persons with and without domicile in the Lao PDR may bring foreign currency cash into the Lao PDR without limit on the amount. Among these, the bringing of foreign currency cash into the Lao PDR that must be declared to the customs officials at the border checkpoint in order to issue a certification document regarding the bringing of foreign currency cash into the Lao PDR is as follows:
1. Bringing cash into the Lao PDR exceeding ten thousand (10,000) US dollars or equivalent per time;
2. Bringing cash by foreign investors with the purpose of bringing capital for direct investment in the Lao PDR.
