Article ມາດຕາ 1
Article 2 Management and Processing of Non-Timber Forest Products
Management of non-timber forest products means the organization of various activities in the management of non-timber forest products in natural forest areas and planted areas, in accordance with laws and regulations.
Processing of non-timber forest products means taking raw materials of non-timber forest products from natural forest areas and planted areas to process into finished and semi-finished products through processing procedures in factories, in accordance with standards and being environmentally friendly.

Article 2 Interpretation of Terms
The terms used in this agreement have the following meanings:
1. Forest product processing factory: means a factory that processes raw materials from nature and cultivation, which are of the types for consumption, seasonal food, and medicine, into semi-finished and finished products using machinery and human labor;
2. Forest product processing group: means a partnership organization of persons engaged in handicraft and trade of forest products, established voluntarily to mutually assist each other and their family members in production and services;
3. Forest product warehouse: means a place for purchasing and collecting forest products for sale, and may install machinery not exceeding 10 horsepower.

Article 4 Scope of Application
This agreement applies to individuals, legal entities and organizations, both domestic and foreign, that operate and are involved in the management of non-timber forest products in the Lao PDR.
