Article 2 Management of Scales
Management of scales means the monitoring, inspection, and recording of data concerning the registration of business operations related to scales, the approval of scale models, the verification and registration of scales produced, imported, exported, distributed, and used in the Lao PDR.

Article 2 Interpretation of Terms
The terms used in this agreement have the following meanings:
1. Scale refers to a type of measuring device used for weighing objects and items;
2. Measuring device refers to an instrument for carrying out measurement, used alone or with other auxiliary devices;
3. Verification mark refers to a symbol applied to a scale to certify its accuracy after inspection;
4. Registration of scales refers to the recording and collection of technical data of scales produced, imported, exported, distributed, and used in the Lao PDR.

Article 3 Scope of Application
This agreement applies to individuals, legal entities and organizations, both domestic and foreign, that operate and are involved in the management of all types of rowing in the Lao PDR.
