Article 2 Cultural Land and Management of Cultural Land
Cultural land is a place that is the location of cultural heritage associated with historical traces, archaeological sites, heritage sites, sacred sites, memorial sites, religious sites, cultural constructions, including cultural zones and other places designated by the State as cultural land.
Management of cultural land is the survey, measurement, data collection, monitoring, inspection, and implementation through various forms to protect cultural land, ensuring its preservation, preventing encroachment, occupation, destruction, or alteration of such land. Management includes various methods such as survey, use planning, development, and allocation of use in a principled manner.

Article 2 Definition of Terms
The terms used in this agreement are defined as follows:
1. Archaeological site means a place where artifacts, monuments, and historical traces are found together as a group;
2. Artifact means a valuable material product created by humans that serves as evidence of the historical process of human social evolution;
3. Heritage site means a monument, sacred place, memorial, natural site, or architecture that has cultural, historical, scientific, or technological and scenic value, and is inherited;
4. Sacred place means a place of worship of the people associated with religious activities, customs, and historical traces;
5. Memorial means a place commemorating the heroic deeds of ancestors and the brave struggle of the Lao multi-ethnic people in protecting and building the nation for the memory of future generations;
6. Religious place means a place for religious activities and worship, such as temples, sims, churches, sermon halls, etc.;
7. Historical trace means a place, architectural structure, or monument that contains artifacts of high cultural, historical, and scientific value;
8. Architecture means an artistic structure outstanding in culture and history, associated with the lifestyle of the Lao multi-ethnic people, ancestors, and national heroes;
9. Heritage land means land associated with cultural and historical heritage, including: monument land, heritage site land, religious place land, and archaeological site land;
10. Historical trace land means land with places, architectural structures, or monuments containing artifacts of high cultural, historical, and scientific value;
11. Archaeological site land means a place where artifacts, monuments, and historical traces are found together as a group;
12. Heritage site land means land with monuments, sacred places, memorials, natural sites, or architecture that has cultural, historical, scientific or technological, and scenic value, and is inherited;
