Article ມາດຕາ 1

Article 2 Lao QR Code Standard for Payment
The Lao QR Code Standard for Payment is the specification of the data content of the QR code to support payment services in the Lao PDR, with a unified standard and in accordance with the EMV QR Code standard.

Article 2 Definition of Terms
The terms used in this agreement are defined as follows:
1. LAO QR means a QR code for payment of goods, services, money transfer or financial transactions, created and developed according to the same standard to enable interoperability for payments both domestically and internationally;
2. Merchant means a seller of goods or services who accepts payment for goods or services through payment instruments or payment media via the LAO QR of a payment service provider at various locations such as shops, hotels, tourist attractions, displaying the LAO QR for the user to scan;
3. EMVCo QR Code Specification means the standard of EMVCo researched and announced for use as an international standard where the merchant displays the LAO QR for the user to scan (Merchant Presented QR);
4. EMVCo means a global technical body established through the cooperation of international card network service providers, consisting of American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, UnionPay and Visa.

Article 3 Scope of Application
This agreement applies to general payment system controllers and payment service providers whose activities involve the establishment of LaoQ standards for payment.
