Article 1

Article 1 (Amended) Purpose
This Law stipulates principles, rules, and measures concerning the organization, operation, and supervision of the work of military courts, in order to ensure that military courts effectively and efficiently perform their duties, making the trial and adjudication of criminal cases swift, transparent, objective, correct, and fair, aiming to safeguard the interests of the military, protect the legitimate rights and interests of officers, soldiers, workers, service personnel, and reserve forces in the performance of their duties to defend the nation, maintain peace, order, a solid legal foundation, stability, strength, and modern standards within the military, and contribute to the protection and development of the country.

Article 2

Article 2 (Amended) Military Court
The Military Court is a judicial organ that performs the duties of criminal case adjudication and sentencing within the Lao People's Army, as stipulated in Article 5 of this Law.
