Article 2 National Handicraft Seal
The National Handicraft Seal is a symbol certifying Lao handicraft products that are outstanding, of quality, standardized, and finely crafted.
The National Handicraft Seal is written in Lao as “ກາບນາຍຫັດຖະກໍາ ແຫ່ງຊາດ” and in English as “National Handicraft Seal”, abbreviated as “NHS”.

Article 2 Definition of Terms
The terms used in this agreement have the following meanings:
1. Operator means an individual, legal entity, organization, investor, business owner, producer and distributor of Lao handicraft products;
2. Artisan means a producer or operator involved in Lao handicraft products who uses tools and equipment to assist in the production process, such as wood carving, sewing, weaving, embroidery, jewelry making and decoration;
3. Lao handicraft product means a Lao handicraft good created from local wisdom by skilled craftsmen, reflecting national identity and artistry, for sale in domestic and foreign markets;
4. Handicraft Product Review Committee means a committee appointed to research, consider and approve Lao handicraft products that meet the conditions for using the national handicraft mark, appointed by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, consisting of relevant sectors including the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, and the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Article 4 Scope of Application
This agreement applies to individuals, legal entities and organizations, both domestic and foreign, that operate and are involved in the work of the national handicraft seal.
