On Cessation of Survey,
Logging, and Timber Collection in Attapeu Province

- Pursuant to the Law on Local Administration (Amended) No. 68/NA, dated 14 December 2015, Part 1, Article 20 on Rights and Duties of Provincial Governors and Mayor of Vientiane Capital;
- Pursuant to the Forestry Law (Amended) No. 64/NA, dated 13 June 2019;
- Pursuant to the Resolution of the 10th Meeting of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, 5th Term;
- Pursuant to the Proposal Letter of the Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Office No. 0150/PAFO.AP, dated 23 January 2024.

The Provincial Governor issues an order:
Prohibit all activities related to exploration, logging, and timber collection throughout Attapeu Province;
In case of notification from the government or central organizations (the Governor will assign relevant provincial, district, and provincial assembly members to inspect and reassess in detail, then report to provincial leaders for guidance on implementation; if unreasonable, it will be reported to higher levels for cessation);
Individuals, legal entities, and organizations are not allowed to conduct exploration, logging, or timber collection inside and outside the three forest types throughout Attapeu Province without permission from the government and the Attapeu Provincial Administration; if any violation of this order is found, the administrative authorities at each level shall take measures
Take strict measures against violators in accordance with laws and regulations;
Assign the Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Department, in coordination with relevant sectors, the authorities of 05 districts, villages, and District Agriculture and Forestry Offices to disseminate, instill regulations and laws, strictly implement this order, and strictly monitor and inspect according to their roles, rights, and duties; as well as conduct surveys, allocate, and plan the restoration of degraded and encroached forests in line with the direction of transitioning to a green economy in the long term;
Assign the Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Department (Forest Inspection Unit) to coordinate with relevant sectors,
the district to strengthen strictness in monitoring and inspecting the conduct of individuals, legal entities, and organizations
Acts violating the law on forests, forest land and forest resources without authorization shall be subject to education and decisive measures against offenders by all sectors and state organizations at all levels in accordance with laws and regulations;

5. This order shall take effect from the date of signature. All previous orders, agreements, notifications and regulations that have been approved and are inconsistent with the content of this order are hereby repealed;
