Article 2 Management of International Code Numbers
Management of international code numbers is the inspection, verification, and comparison to identify the identity of products, transportation, warehouse systems, and various information sources by issuing international code number certificates to facilitate distribution and services both domestically and abroad.

Article 2 Definition of Terms
The terms used in this agreement have the following meanings:
1. International code means the international numbering of barcodes (112100ແຽ8) used for product goods;
2. Barcode (3ຄນ60ແ6) means a code with vertical line characteristics, which is a code representing numbers and letters that can be read by a barcode scanner;
3. GS1 (111ຂ ນົນນ5ໄ 01 6001004] 5ໄຊກແລນຝ) means the premier international standards organization that determines international code numbers, manages, monitors, inspects and protects the barcode system for each industry and member worldwide;
4. Member means an individual, legal entity or organization authorized to use international code numbers.

Article 4 Scope of Application
This agreement applies to individuals, legal entities, and organizations, both domestic and foreign, involved in the use of international code plates in the Lao PDR.
