Article 2 Accreditation of laboratory standards
Accreditation of laboratory standards is the examination of technical standards in testing and calibration and the issuance of a certificate of accreditation of laboratory standards by the Department of Standards and Metrology.

Article 2 Definition of terms
1. Laboratory means a place where testing, calibration and sampling related to testing or calibration are carried out;
2. Laboratory operator means a person, legal entity or organization that uses and provides laboratory services, relating to society and established in accordance with laws and regulations.

Article 4 Scope of Application
This agreement applies to individuals, legal entities and organizations, both domestic and foreign, operating laboratories in the Lao PDR.
