Article 1
Purpose. This agreement stipulates regulations and measures for the management, supervision, and inspection of noise, lighting, and temperature levels arising from the operations of processing industry and handicraft factories, ensuring compliance with prescribed standard values, aiming to ensure safety, reduce impacts on health, the environment, and society, and contribute to the green and sustainable development of the processing industry and handicraft sector.
Article 2
Noise, Lighting, and Temperature Standards for Processing Industry and Handicraft Factories. Noise standards refer to the prescribed standard values for average noise levels and maximum noise levels generated by the operations of processing industry and handicraft factories, as experienced by workers or the community. Lighting standards refer to the prescribed standard values for minimum lighting levels in general areas and production areas of processing industry and handicraft factories, as experienced by workers and related to visibility. Temperature standards refer to the prescribed standard values for maximum heat levels within the work areas of processing industry and handicraft factories, as experienced by workers.
Article 3
Definition of Terms. The terms used in this Agreement shall have the meanings set forth below:
1. Background Noise (L90) means the noise level measured in the environment or in the absence of factory noise, above which the noise level accounts for ninety percent of the noise during the measurement period;
2. Intrusive Noise means the difference between the background noise level and the noise level measured during the operation of the factory;
3. Maximum Noise Level (Lmax) means the noise level that occurs within a measured period, has the highest value, and terminates within no more than one second;
4. Average Noise Level (Leq) means the average noise level over the measurement period;
5. Decibel (dB(A)) means the unit of measurement for the frequency of noise perceived or heard by a person, and is a unit used to assess the degree of harm of noise to humans;
6. Lux means the unit of measurement for the intensity of illumination;
7. Degree Celsius (°C) means the unit of measurement for temperature.
