Article 1
Purpose. The issuance of this Decree aims to declare the establishment of the Phu Luang-Phu Khao Nok National Protection Forest, to manage and protect forests, forest land, aquatic animals, and wildlife, ensuring their abundance and richness, serving as a place for recreation, tourism, and scientific research, with the goal of protecting biodiversity and the environment in a green and sustainable direction, contributing to improving people's lives and enhancing the country's economic and social development.
Article 2
Location, Boundaries, and Area of the Phou Louang-Phou Khao Nok National Protection Forest. The Phou Louang-Phou Khao Nok National Protection Forest is located in the central region, covering one province, namely: Khammouane Province, comprising one district, namely: Boualapha District, situated within the following longitudes and latitudes: Northern boundary Longitude: 105°45′34.8″ Latitude: 17°24′15.19″; Southern boundary Longitude: 106°22′02.37″ Latitude: 17°9′35.1″; Eastern boundary Longitude: 105°54′33.6″ Latitude: 17°19′04″; Western boundary Longitude: 105°51′01.97″ Latitude: 17°13′57.8″. The boundaries of the Phou Louang-Phou Khao Nok National Protection Forest, based on a 1:100,000 scale topographic map, are defined by lines of longitude and latitude, and compared with actual terrain features, such as: ridges, foothills, streams, water systems, and roads as boundary lines, so that local administrative authorities and all ethnic groups may be informed and cooperate, properly managing, protecting, and developing the area. The total area of the Phou Louang-Phou Khao Nok National Protection Forest is 40,489 hectares (forty thousand four hundred eighty-nine hectares). Article 3
Management. The management of the Phu Luang-Phu Khao Nok National Protection Forest shall be the responsibility of the Protection Forest Management Office. The organizational structure and activities of this office shall be separately prescribed by specific regulations.
