Article 1
Purpose. This Decision stipulates principles, regulations, and measures concerning the management, supervision, inspection, and certification of organic agriculture standards, in order to manage the organic agricultural production system, making it sustainable and ecologically balanced, ensuring the richness of soil biodiversity, reducing the use of synthetic chemicals in the production chain, aiming to protect the health of humans, animals, and the environment, contributing to economic and social development, and enabling alignment with regional and international standards.
Article 2
Organic agriculture standards. Organic agriculture standards refer to the methods and conditions for following the Lao People's Democratic Republic's organic agriculture standards in all stages of organic agricultural production—from cultivation to processing, management, storage, transportation, harvesting of natural products, and commercial inputs. As for beekeeping for honey, silkworm rearing for silk, and edible mushroom cultivation, these are separately stipulated in specific regulations.
