Article 1
Purpose. This Decision stipulates principles, regulations, and measures concerning management, tracking, inspection, and coordination, in order to ensure that Lao, ASEAN, and foreign architects and civil engineers operating in the Lao People's Democratic Republic are efficient and effective, aiming to ensure technical expertise and professional services are convenient, rapid, and transparent, thereby contributing to national economic and social development.
Article 2
Professional Management of Architects and Civil Engineers. The professional management of architects and civil engineers refers to the control, monitoring, inspection, coordination, and promotion of the practice of Lao, ASEAN, and foreign architects and civil engineers engaged in professional activities in the Lao People's Democratic Republic under the management of the Lao Architects and Civil Engineers Council (LACEC). The Lao Architects and Civil Engineers Council is established within the Institute of Public Works and Transport under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and its functions are based on the Decision of the Minister of Public Works and Transport dated July 16, 2019, No. 16746/MPWT, on the Establishment of the Lao Architects and Civil Engineers Council.
