Articles

Article 1

Purpose. This Agreement stipulates the principles and regulations concerning the selection and award of the National Quality Prize to outstanding enterprises, aiming to encourage and promote enterprises to continuously and gradually improve the quality and efficiency of production and service provision, thereby strengthening the capacity of domestic enterprises, enabling them to grow robustly, compete in domestic and international markets, and contribute to the country's economic and social development.

Article 2

National Quality Award. The Lao National Quality Award, abbreviated in Lao as "ລຄຊ", and internationally written as "Lao Quality Award", abbreviated as "LQA", is a recognition for enterprises that achieve national-level excellent quality in production, business management, and service management, are oriented towards society, and conduct their activities correctly in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

Article 3

Term Interpretation. The terms used in this agreement have the following meanings:
1. Enterprise refers to a business unit of an individual or legal person that is properly established and operates in accordance with the enterprise law;
2. Large-scale production enterprise refers to an enterprise with an average annual labor force of one hundred or more persons for production, total assets exceeding forty billion kip, and annual operating revenue exceeding forty billion kip;
3. Small and medium-sized production enterprise refers to an enterprise with an average annual labor force of fewer than one hundred persons for production, total assets less than forty billion kip, and annual operating revenue less than forty billion kip;
4. Large-scale service enterprise refers to an enterprise with an average annual labor force of one hundred or more persons for providing services, total assets exceeding sixty billion kip, and annual operating revenue exceeding forty billion kip;
5. Small and medium-sized service enterprise refers to an enterprise with an average annual labor force of fewer than one hundred persons for providing services, total assets less than sixty billion kip, and annual operating revenue less than forty billion kip.
