This Decree stipulates the composition and standards of national attire (traditional costume) to ensure its uniformity, maintain its national, popular, and progressive characteristics, aiming to protect and preserve customs and traditions, develop and promote the creative thinking of the people in fine and exquisite embroidery handicraft skills, making it a unique national symbol.
Article 2
National costume (national attire). National costume (national attire) refers to clothing and accessories with uniqueness and cultural heritage, worn by women and men for participation in formal ceremonies, events, and various ritual activities on appropriate occasions.
Article 3
Scope of Application. This Decree applies to individuals, legal entities, and organizations within and outside the Lao People’s Democratic Republic related to national attire (national costume).
