Article 1
Article 1 (Amended) Purpose
This Law stipulates principles and regulations concerning the organization and activities of the Government, in order to render state management, economic and social management, national defense and public security maintenance, foreign affairs, management and utilization of national resources, and environmental protection effective; aiming to ensure the correct implementation of the Constitution, laws, and regulations, to bring about a prosperous and happy life for the people, a strong and prosperous nation, a united, democratic, just, and civilized society.

Article 2: The Government
The Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic is the state administrative organ, formed with the approval of the National Assembly, and is accountable to the National Assembly and the President of the State.
Article 3
Article 3 Duties of the Government
The Government has the comprehensive and unified duty to manage state administration nationwide, primarily concerning politics, administration, economy and society, national defense and security maintenance, foreign affairs, and management of national resources to maximize their benefits and protect the environment in a sustainable direction.
